Frequently asked questions about the retreat on Ikaria

  • 1. What is a Blue Zone, and why is Ikaria one of them?

A Blue Zone is a region where people live significantly longer and healthier lives. Ikaria is one of only five official Blue Zones in the world. The island's residents enjoy longevity thanks to a natural lifestyle that includes healthy food, daily movement, strong social connections, and low stress.

  • 2. Who is this retreat for?

This retreat is for anyone seeking rest, wellbeing, and a deeper connection—with or without yoga experience. The group consists of 6–8 people open to slowing down, connecting, and embracing a natural way of living. Solo travelers are very welcome!

  • 3. Do I need experience with yoga or meditation?

Not at all. Our yoga and meditation sessions are accessible to all levels. You don’t need to perform or achieve anything. Everything is optional and adapted to your pace.

  • 4. What does a typical retreat day look like?

A day on Ikaria starts gently with yoga or meditation, followed by a healthy breakfast. The rest of the day may include hiking, relaxing, or moments of reflection. In the evening, we share a wholesome Ikarian meal—often with a glass of local wine and meaningful conversations. But remember: nothing is mandatory, everything is allowed.

  • 5. What’s included in the price?

    • 6 nights in luxury villas
    • Daily yoga or reflection sessions
    • All healthy, local meals
    • Wine, water, and local delicacies
    • Walks and on-site transportation
    • Authentic island experiences

You’ll find the full list on the Package page.

  • 6. What if I’m coming alone?

No worries—many of our guests join solo. The retreat is small-scale and warm, making it easy to connect with others. You can choose a shared room or, for an additional fee, a private stay.

  • 7. When is the next retreat?

The next retreat week on Ikaria is planned for September 2026. You’ll find the exact dates and availability on the Booking page or via our contact form.
